Welcome to Terrapin River Loft!  This cool and relaxing get-away is located directly on the banks of the Guadalupe River, between Austin and San Antonio and surrounded by the gorgeous Texas Hill Country. Terrapin's owners Chris and Steve Summers, invite you to enjoy a relaxing and secluded retreat, awaken to the sounds of birds and squirrels among 100-year old pecan and cypress trees, cool off in the crystal waters of the Guadalupe River, and watch the fireflies flicker over acres of riverbank at sunset.

A fully furnished vacation rental non-smoking guest apartment awaits you tucked amidst the pecan branches. This tree-top loft is 2-1/2 stories above 1.5 acres of land in a quiet, residential setting.  It has a private entrance, covered parking, a large balcony overlooking the river, air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout.  The loft has a full bath, fully equipped kitchen, indoor dining room plus dining table and chairs on the balcony.  There are two bedrooms: one enclosed queen bedroom, and an open-plan den or great room with with convertible sleeper sofas.  In addition to their standard mattress, both these have plump feather beds so they're very comfortable. 

 

Amenities include an electric fireplace, cable TV, CD, DVD & VCR players, and cellular 3G coverage.  We're also sticklers for freshness, so we clean and sanitize bedding, linens, and upholstered surfaces after every guest stay.

 

        

 

Because there are high, open spaces, we do not accept children under 5 years of age, or pets.

 

 

Guest have access to 175 ft of private river frontage, including use of the river-side deck and paved landing.  Our section of the river is relatively deep; so even in drought years the water is deep enough to swim or fish from our in-water landing.  There is a rock ledge half-way across the river from our landing that Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited has nick-named “The Hog Trap” because big trout tend to stack up there, and our shoreline is the only way to fish this spot from land.

 

Continental Breakfast is included with your stay at Terrapin River loft.  We stock the refrigerator with coffee, tea, fresh fruit, eggs, muffins, and juices, to enjoy when you wish. 

Terrapin River Loft is approximately four mile from Canyon Lake TX, ten miles from Gruene, and 14 miles from Schlitterbahn.  It's a great "base of operations" for touring the Texas Hill Country (wineries, caverns, wildflowers, hand-crafted arts and outlet mall shopping), and for floating the Guadalupe River (you can go north or south from our location). It's also great for fishing from the bank or just lazing around on the river-side deck and watching other folks float by.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

• 100%* of the Pre-paid Damage Deposits will be refunded, if cancelled before arrival. 

• If canceling more than 60 days prior to your reserved date, 100%* of your lodging deposit will be returned in full. 

• If canceling between 60 and 30 days prior to your reserved date, 50%* of your lodging deposit will be refunded. The other 50% will be retained on account with Terrapin River Loft.  You can reschedule to an available date within the same year, without losing the value of the retained deposit.

• If canceling with less than 30 days prior to your reserved date, 50% of your lodging deposit will be forfeited.  The other 50% will be retained on account with Terrapin River Loft.  You can reschedule to an available date within the same year, without losing the value of that portion of the deposit.

* Note that the 3% Paypal service fee is not refundable if payment is more than 60 days old.
